This page explains the text (SMS) messages sent through Paidsley: who sends them, who receives them, what they contain, how consent is obtained, and how to stop them.
Who sends the messages
Paidsley is a time-tracking and workforce-compliance service operated by TMH Consulting, Inc. Messages are sent by Paidsley on behalf of the business that employs the recipient. The business subscribes to Paidsley and uses it to track its employees' time.
Who receives the messages
Only people who have personally asked to receive them. Every recipient is an employee or administrator at a business that subscribes to Paidsley, and every recipient entered their own mobile number and opted in themselves. We do not send messages to the general public. An employer cannot enroll someone else in text messages, and Paidsley will not accept a mobile number typed in by anyone other than the person who owns it.
What we send
These are account notifications, not marketing messages. They include:
- Approval requests — a notification to an administrator that a time-off request, timesheet, or expense submission is waiting for their approval.
- Approval outcomes — a notification to an employee that a request they submitted was approved or denied.
Invitations to join Paidsley are not sent by text. When an administrator adds someone to Paidsley, they receive a setup link or QR code to hand to that person directly. Nobody is texted before they have opted in.
We do not send promotional or advertising messages, and we do not sell or share mobile numbers with third parties for their own marketing.
How consent is obtained
Consent is given by the message recipient themselves. Administrators cannot enter an employee's mobile number and cannot consent on their behalf.
When an administrator adds an employee to Paidsley, they receive a setup link to share with that person. The employee opens the link, enters their own mobile number if they want text messages, and checks an unchecked, optional consent box. Paidsley stores the exact disclosure wording shown, its version, the timestamp, the IP address and the user agent with the consent record. If the employee later changes their number, consent is cleared until they opt in again.
What the employee sees
The following is the consent step shown to an employee on their own setup page. The box is optional and never pre-checked, and the rest of setup works without it.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. It depends on the recipient's own activity (for example, how often they submit time-off or expense requests) and on their employer's notification settings in Paidsley.
How to stop receiving messages
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text messages. You will receive one confirmation, and no further messages will be sent to that number.
Reply HELP to any message for help. You can also contact us at the address below.
Opting out of text messages does not close your Paidsley account. You can still clock in and out, submit requests, and view your hours in the Paidsley app.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Paidsley does not charge employees for these messages; any charges come from your own mobile carrier under your plan.
Privacy
Mobile numbers are used only to deliver the notifications described above and to operate the service. See our Privacy Notice for how we handle personal information.
